A new era for Optimism

Bedrock, the first official release of the OP Stack, is a collection of modular components that are freely available and open-source, serving as the backbone of Optimism. The Optimism Bedrock documentation provides a concise overview of the notable enhancements offered by this release:

• ⛽️ Reduced gas fees: Bedrock uses an optimized data compression strategy, resulting in a substantial reduction in transaction costs. In addition, it eliminates all gas costs associated with EVM execution when submitting data to Layer 1 (L1), cutting fees by an extra 10%. With this upgrade, users can enjoy lower transaction costs, enabling more cost-effective trading and improving the overall affordability of participating in the DexToro ecosystem. With lower transaction costs, the required deposit for keepers on DexToro will be reduced, making it one of the most cost-effective options available in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.

• ⚡️ Faster order confirmation: This update has brought a significant improvement. Optimism's increased scalability and efficiency reduce order completion time on DexToro to less than 3 seconds. Before Bedrock, the average order completion time on the platform was around 13-15 seconds.

These improvements make Bedrock a significant step forward for Optimism and its ecosystem. Optimism is now more affordable, faster, and more secure.
